About Verney's Camp
Verney's Camp is a collection of 10 large luxury tents situated in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe. The camp is located in a secluded Central-Eastern part of the National Park, on a private concession of 10,000 hectares, offering guests ultimate privacy and relaxation. The camp is built in the classical Machaba style as to provide guests with a cultural insight in their home away from home. The large, spacious tents are built on wooden decks, with pathways meandering through the teak forest beneath. The main open areas of the camp, including the fireside, overlook a large waterhole that is absolutely teeming with wildlife, typical of Hwange National Park. The wildlife around the waterhole and the camp, in general, is especially rich and diverse in the drier months.
Verney's Camp is situated in the Central Eastern part of Hwange National Park and is located on a private concession of 10,000n hectare's deep within the National Park. Although in a private setting, the camp is still accessible with relative ease. The beautiful waterfront setting offers guests wild and wonderful views and a true emersion into rural Africa. The teak forests below the accommodation give guests the chance to experience the full potential of the surrounding landscape.
How to get there
Hwange National Park is very accessible. Hwange Main Camp can be reached by road and is located 200km south of Victoria Falls, the duration of the drive is less than 3 hours. In some times of year, especially the wet season, a four-wheel-drive vehicle may be necessary to reach Verney's Camp. Transfers can be arranged from Hwange Main Camp to Verney's Camp for those driving in, at no extra charge. For those flying in, access is via the Manga airstrip. this airstrip is located only a short drive away from the camp
When to go
The prime time for wildlife viewing, especially around the waterhole, in Hwange National park is during the dry season. The dry season is July to October.
