The friendly team welcomes guests to a selection of houses and cottages, each beautifully styled with furniture and embellishments from all over Africa. Guests can dine beside the river or on their private terrace. Privately owned and run, Tongabezi combines an exclusive ambience with the legendary warmth and hospitality of the people of Zambia.
Tongabezi is the ultimate destination for romance if you have a special occasion to celebrate, the entire team will be at your service to ensure the ultimate wedding, honeymoon or anniversary but the real beauty of the Tongabezi experience lies in its ability to set the scene and inspire a little magical romance in everyone no special occasion necessary.
Victoria Falls is one of the worlds natural wonders and among the most spectacular sights in all Africa. The best place to witness this immense mass of water is tiny Livingstone Island, the place where Dr David Livingstone first glimpsed Mosi-oa-Tunya (The Smoke That Thunders).
Tongabezi offers five trips a day to Livingstone Island. A twin-engine boat that carries up to 12 people will take you through the fast-moving channels of the Zambezi, a thrilling journey. Once on the island, you will be given a guided tour, learning about its history from ancient times, when it served as a sacrificial site to the present day and its World Heritage status.
Victoria Falls and its surroundings have always attracted travellers who enjoy a touch of adventure with their view. During the dry months (May through November) the spectacular curtain of water recedes to reveal the geological wonder of the basalt gorges. It is also possible to swim on the very edge of the Falls when the water level is low. An exceptional region guests can not only visit the Falls, but also discover the Zambezi river by canoe or boat and enjoy cultural visits to schools, museums and markets in Livingstone.
