About Kamalaya Koh Samui
Kamalaya Koh Samui is a multi-award winning Wellness Sanctuary and Holistic Spa ideally located amid a tropical landscape on the southern coastline of Koh Samui, Thailand. With lush tropical vegetation, ancient boulders, cascading streams, and 1.5 miles of idyllic private beach, Kamalaya's natural setting is an integral part of each guest's experience. Centered around a monk's cave that once served Buddhist monks as a place of meditation and spiritual retreat, Kamalayas essence is expressed in its name, 'Lotus (kamal) Realm (alaya)', an ancient symbol for the growth and unfolding of the human spirit.
Kamalayas 59 rooms and villas are situated amidst ancient, granite boulders, streams and tropical vegetation, with existing rocks and trees as defining elements for many of the structures. Asian textiles and carefully selected art pieces combine with modern amenities to create comfortable, serene and elegant interiors.
Kamalaya has a beautiful beachfront location, just 45 minutes from Koh Samui Airport, which has direct flights from Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore and Phuket, and more. Additionally, Bangkok Airways runs regular flights to Samui from Phuket, from which there are flights to many other international locations.
How to get there
Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways fly to Koh Samui from Bangkok. Kamalaya is approximately 25 kms, about a 45 minute drive, from Koh Samui airport.
When to go
The best time to visit is from February to September, which is generally dry, but there can be some rain every month. October to January are the wet months with the monsoon coming from the northeast across the Gulf of Thailand.
It is recommended that you consult with your General Practitioner or Practice Nurse 6-8 weeks in advance of travel.
Travelling with children
The facilities and services at Kamalaya are designed for adults who seek the time, place and expertise to improve their wellbeing. Kamalaya is not recommended for children and there are no child concessions available. However, the following policy applies for parents who would like to do a wellness program and bring their children: for every room booked there must be one adult with a pre-booked wellness program for the duration of their stay. A maximum of one child sharing a room with their parents is permitted. Children below the age of 16 may not participate in any wellness activities or treatments and are not allowed into the wellness centre or its facilities. Children are not allowed to use the swimming pools between midday and 4pm.
