Surrounded by stunning fragrant gardens in the jungle hills of Northern Thailand, the Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp is a magical escape. Explore the enchanting world of elephants as you set out on a once in a lifetime journey within the Golden Triangle. The hotel is totally unique in its situation within an elephant camp, allowing guests to spend time up-close and live among the elephants. Guests can learn about the animals, their history, and behaviour, as well as the threats posed to these beautiful creatures and the current projects to protect them.
All rooms offer vistas of the resorts gorgeous gardens or across the Mekong River. The hotel is 'Lanna-influenced' in design with dark teak floors and elegant furniture, raw silks and local art and carvings. Relax and enjoy the views from the vast balconies. The large, deep-blue pool comes with a jacuzzi, plenty of sun loungers and serene rural views. The spa has five treatment rooms and outdoor soaking tubs with Mekong Valley views.

Perched on a ridge overlooking the striking mountains of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar, as well as on the convergence of the Ruak and Mekong Rivers, the hotel is a hub for nature and comes with an abundance of stand-out and phenomenal views. The resort is located within the elephant camp
How to get there
Gone are the days where you would have to access the hotel by either longtail river boat or elephant, as the hotel is accessible by car, plane and boat. The Anantara is a one-hour drive from Chiang Rai Airport, return car transfers are available on request. There are several flights a day from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport to Chaing Rai Airport, which makes for easy access. Boat transfers can be arranged from Chiang Saen pier to the hotel pier for a more scenic journey, this trip has a duration of about 15 minutes.
When to go
The hot season runs between March and May, with seasonal temperature starting at 27 degrees Celsius and rising to 36 degrees Celsius. April is the warmest month of the year, so the best time to visit the area is during the transition from the cool season to the hot season, therefore March offers refreshing yet desirable weather.
Important Information
Smoking is allowed in outdoor areas, and by request in dedicated rooms.
Due to the jungle setting, light layers and insect repellent are highly recommended.
Between the months of November and February it can be chilly, so layers are advised.
Outdoor boots are recommended for elephant walks as it can be muddy.
