About Thailand

I have travelled around Thailand countless times, less glamorously by bus and train, but more comfortably sailing on yachts and island hopping in small charter planes.

Thailand is a renowned beach destination, but there’s far more to the country than its soft, palm-fringed sands. I will guide you to Kanchanaburi for a historic journey, to Northern Thailand to sleep in treehouses in the jungle to the Similan Islands, down in the South, off the coast of Phang Nha for superb diving.

Thailand radiates a golden tone, from its glittering temples and tropical beaches through the reassuring charm of its friendly people and delicious cuisine. Rely on us to find what you are after.

We can organise exclusive private villas in the Golden Triangle, nights sleeping on the River Kwai to experiences sleeping in Treehouses in the Nam Kan National Park and zip line adventures through the trees.

No beaches in Thailand are private, so it’s best to get advice from us to guide you to picking the area's that fit your requirements.

Thailand is one of Southeast Asia’s most visited countries. It has quite fairly developed a reputation for being one of the top places for an unrivalled blend of sumptuous places to stay, combined with some gripping adventure to get stuck into.

Thailand is situated in the centre of the Indochinese peninsula of Southeast Asia. Thailand’s metropolis, Bangkok is a visual delight, full of dazzling temples, world famous markets, and life of the Chao Phraya River. It’s fair to say that Bangkok is an excellent place to start or end your holiday, but be warned it’s a pleasingly chaotic place. Slow travel is the norm in Thailand, a great way to travel is by boat, whether it be to see the Grand Palace, Wat Arun or the Damnoen Sadouk Floating Markets.

Situated in the north of Thailand, Chiang Mai is a city built on the roots of a traditional heritage. Promoted as the “Rose of the North”, it is stunningly beautiful with a unique cultural personality. The hill tribes who populate the area are an unforgettable part of Chiang Mai and handicrafts of silk, silver and wood are timeless souvenirs for visitors from all over the globe. Along with all this, a wide variety of accommodations, restaurants, and entertainment all make Chiang Mai one of Thailand’s most inspiring destinations.Chiang Mai is home to hundreds of elaborated Buddhist temples, the Wat Gatekaram Market and Mai Ping River.
Comparing to Bangkok, the city is more calm and relaxing and you get a real feel for local street life.

Chiang Rai is the ancient capital of Thailand’s Northernmost province and is set in the in the heart of the “Golden Triangle”. The town itself although of ancient origins has limited interest to the visitors. Of greater interest are the villages of Sop Ruak, Mai Sai and Chiang Saen, which form the heart of the Golden Triangle. Many travel here for the Elephant Sanctuaries, arguably the most unforgettable experience in Thailand.

Southern Thailand is most commonly known for having some of the most beautiful white sandy beaches. These include places like Krabi, Khao Lak, Koh Lanta, Koh Samui and Phuket. With endless options, we can certainly guide you to the best spots. Diving in Thailand is possible but you do need to travel out by boat, and the Similan Islands offer the best sites.

Krabi is located on the west coast of Southern Thailand, marked by its sheer limestone cliffs and hundreds of coastal islands. Some of the most famous beaches are Phi Phi Island and Railay beach.

Ko Samui is Thailand second largest island lies in the gulf of Thailand on the East coast. The East and West Coast of Thailand have differing weather systems which means that when one side could be monsoonal, the other side is likely to be sheltered from this.

So many airlines fly directly to Bangkok. It’s so easy to dip into neighbouring countries too, to visit the Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, or Alms offerings in Luang Prabang in Laos and hot air ballooning in Myanmar.

If you are likely to want to do some shopping at Chatuchak Weekend market in Bangkok, home to more than 8000 market stalls it could be worth saving Bangkok to the end of your holiday as you won’t want to carry all your purchased around Indochina.

Thailand’s a tropical country, prone to the Monsoon. Discuss your holiday with us, I would avoid travelling to Thailand in October and November.

Families find themselves spoiled for choice here. Unlike other countries that struggle to find accommodation that offers interconnecting rooms and child-friendly pools. Thailand’s packed full of family hotels. Many have Kid’s clubs for children ages 4 upwards. Under 4, children tend to have to be accompanied by an adult.

Head to Chiang Mai for the ultimate adventure, cycling, rafting, zip wiring and elephants sanctuaries. We know the best ethical camps, where elephants are in a tranquil, natural environment and mahouts are very attentive and incredibly knowledgeable about their elephants.

Where to go

Bangkok is the capital of Thailand and, with a population of over eleven million inhabitants, by far its largest city.

Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is the hub of Northern Thailand and the Capital City of the Province of this name.

Koh Samui

An island located in the Chumphon Archipelago in the Gulf of Thailand

Koh Yao Noi

Ko Yao, sometimes written Koyao, is a group of islands between Phuket and Krabi. There are two main islands, Ko Yao Noi ("Small Long Island") and Ko Yao Yai, with Noi being the more developed of the two.

Phuket Island (pronounced puu gèt), is Thailand's largest at 48km in length and 21km at its widest. It's in Southern Thailand, on the west-facing Andaman Sea coastline, suspended from the southern tip of Phang Nga Province by a pair of short but substantial road bridges.

Practical info

The risks to health whilst travelling will vary between individuals and many issues need to be taken into account, e.g. activities abroad, length of stay and general health of the traveller. It is recommended that you consult with your General Practitioner or Practice Nurse 6-8 weeks in advance of travel. They will assess your particular health risks before recommending vaccines and /or antimalarial tablets. This is also a good opportunity to discuss important travel health issues including safe food and water, accidents, sun exposure and insect bites. Many of the problems experienced by travellers cannot be prevented by vaccinations and other preventive measures need to be taken.

Comprehensive travel insurance is essential, including medical cover. We also highly recommend trip cancellation cover. You are 100% financially protected through our membership of the Travel Trust Association.

British passport holders arriving by air or land can enter Thailand for 30 days without a visa - this is known as a visa exemption. It’s possible to extend your stay beyond the 30 days granted by the visa exemption by an additional 30 days from the expiry date of the original visa. To extend your visa you’ll need to apply at an immigration office.

Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of entry into Thailand. Entry to Thailand is normally refused if you have a passport which is damaged or has pages missing.

If you’re a dual national you must make sure that when you depart Thailand you have a valid passport of the nationality used to enter, otherwise you may have difficulty in leaving.
