Location

Well off the beaten track and only accessible by bumpy roads, Azura Selous is far away from the other Selous lodges and offers very exclusive private game viewing where you won’t see anyone else from start to finish, this is real raw, rugged and authentic Africa!

The Selous is wild, rugged and diverse, it is not a zoo and your game drives are varied and always take in new areas to discover. With your guide you will track what you are looking for, often following fresh footprints and often off roading looking for the normal tick list of game that people have come to find.
Due to their exclusive location, the game drives here feel like you are on a private concession.

When you are enjoying experiences like a pride of lions, a herd of elephants, a leopard or a pack of wild dog all on your own with no other tourists you feel very humbled and lucky – very few places in Africa offer this intimate and exclusive experience.

When to go

Azura Selous is closed in April and May due to the annual rains. It's much hotter from November to March, but the lodge has air conditioning.

Important Information

Children aged 6 and above are welcome at Azura Selous.
It is the only lodge in the Selous with a dedicated children's programme which is highly educational and interactive.
