The ultimate winter wonderland; trips to Sweden are spent living off the land, eating reindeer and lingonberries. A personal highlight was spending a night with the Sámi people, learning how to survive winter.

Vivienne

We went looking for the Northern Lights and got so much more – snowmobiling, husky sledding, and we were hosted by lovely people. It was a pleasure planning our trip with Molly; she understood exactly what we were looking for from our snowy adventure!

WINTER EXPERIENCES

Layer up and let northern Sweden’s gigantic arctic playground work its magic – perfect for adventurers desperate to try something completely out of the ordinary. Ahead of you awaits expansive stretches of snow-blanketed forests, ready to be explored by sledge with a pack of huskies leading your way. Make the most of your thermals whilst snowmobiling up mountain trails, or cross country skiing down them. If this isn’t enough, head to the lakes for ice fishing.

THE NORTHERN LIGHTS

Prepare to be captivated by the violet, green, yellow, white and red swirls illuminating and spanning the night sky. Your best chances of catching this heavenly spectacle is between October and March, and Swedish Lapland offers one of the best chances of success in your Aurora Borealis hunting. Whether or not you’re lucky enough to spot the colours in their full glory, you’ll never regret travelling this far north for such a worthwhile experience.

NORDIC LIFESTYLE

Swedes have a way of sucking you into their way of life, from stripping everything back and slowing right down, to making the most of their blessed outdoor environment by forever exploring forests and coastline. Discover why they’re so proud to live off the land, getting stuck into their traditions by tasting local delicacies such as reindeer, arctic char and lingonberry juice. What’s more, head out on a sea safari to fish fresh lobster and mussels. After a day in the life of a Swede, be sure to collapse in front of an open log fire.

COASTAL ISLANDS & SEAFOOD SAFARIS

Explore two of Scandinavia’s most serene cities, where the urban opens up to the countryside and its surrounding islands. Positioned along the west coast, unearth the charm of Gothenburg and its tram-lined streets, Michelin-starred restaurants, galleries and seafood safaris, alongside the archipelago of 8,000 coastal islands. And visit Stockholm – the gateway to Swedish Lapland – an immaculate capital city with an idyllic waterfront opening up to the Baltic Sea and its rocky isles of red wooden cottages, forests and wildflowers. Gain a bird’s eye view of this spectacular scenery from the heights of a helicopter.
