Ebony is a very beautiful lodge with an excellent location, and the recent makeover has contributed very nicely to the lodge. The staff were excellent and attentive.

About Singita Ebony Lodge
As the original Singita lodge, Ebony stands steadfast amongst enormous trees on the banks of the Sand River in the heart of South Africa's big cat country. A blend of European heritage and African boldness welcomes visitors with the down-to-earth warmth of a much-loved family home. Spacious interiors are styled with a varied mix of rich colours, and inviting textures and layers, making Singita Ebony Lodge an idyllic retreat.
The lodge comprises just 12 secluded suites, each of which are the epitome of elegant comfort, and two of which are perfectly suited to accommodate families. En-suite bathrooms, an indoor-outdoor shower, private heated plunge pools, and spacious game viewing decks complete the luxurious accommodation.
The Sabi Sand is a privately owned game reserve adjacent to Kruger National Park, and together the two areas make up some of South Africa’s most incredible and pristine land. With the opening of its first lodge, Ebony Lodge, in 1994, Singita’s philosophy has been to protect large tracts of wilderness and wildlife populations for future generations.
Singita Sabi Sand is a privately owned game reserve in the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, adjacent to the Kruger National Park in South Africa. Spanning more than 45,000 acres, Singita Sabi Sand is renowned for high concentrations of big game and frequent leopard sightings. Here you will find Singita Ebony Lodge.

When to go
Southern Africa is a year-round destination. Traditionally the dry winter months (April to October) are best for game viewing, due to the shorter grass, lack of foliage and the absence of water which forces the game to concentrate around the remaining sources of drinking water. Annual rainfall, usually in the form of short afternoon thunder showers that clear up within an hour, occur from December to March. Many species give birth to their young around the start of the rains, so the bush is alive with newborn animals.
Singita Ebony Lodge is in a malarial zone so it is essential to ensure that you take appropriate prophylactics. It is also recommended that you consult your doctor/physician before travelling.
Please remember that you need at least 2 blank visa pages in your passport for travel.
Accommodation at Singita Boulders & Ebony Lodges includes:
All meals and beverages (including premium wines, spirits and liqueurs, but excluding French Champagne)
Twice daily open Land Rover safaris, walking safaris, mountain biking safaris (accompanied by experienced guides and trackers), archery
