About Emily Moon River Lodge

Set on the banks of the Bitou River in Plettenberg Bay, Emily Moon River Lodge is an exclusive boutique hotel with a quirky attitude and a distinctly African air. The hotel comprises of 10, exquisitely-appointed lodges set in an indigenous garden, with magnificent views of the river and the wetlands beyond.

Emily Moon River Lodge is owned by Mark Valentine and his wife Christine. The hotel is filled with the treasures they have collected from their travels all over Africa, Asia and Polynesia. This luxurious boutique hotel is managed by Alex Olivier and his wife Candice, who maintain the impeccable standards and the warm, welcoming ambiance that attracts visitors from all over the world.

At each lodge, sheer indulgence greets you at the door. All suites have a spacious living area, a well appointed bathroom with underfloor heating, a wooden viewing deck, a fireplace, wi-fi, plantation blinds, a ceiling fan, a mini bar and satellite TV. No two lodges are alike but they all feature rare artifacts collected from the length and breadth of Africa.
