Wilderness Ruckomechi

Mana West

Ruckomechi is a 24-bed camp set in the heart of an 18 square mile concession which adjoins Mana Pools National Park, which is one of Zimbabwe’s leading safari destinations, offering visitors a chance to see elephant, buffalo, leopard and lion in one of the continent’s last great wildernesses, all while staying in supreme comfort. Twelve spacious tents (including two family units), along with a generous main space, enjoy the broad vista of the Zambezi River. There is a separate pool area, a unique outdoor bath with a view in a secluded, scenic spot and a Star Bed located close by to the camp which overlooks the river and bush.

Reasons we love Wilderness Ruckomechi

  • Watch hippo and crocodile in the river below from the cool water of the camp swimming pool
  • Enjoy spectacular views of the 5,000ft purply-blue Zambian escarpment to the north and the broad Zambezi river
  • Superb fishing opportunities with some very good guides just in front of the camp
