29/2 Aurland creates a sense of belonging when staying in house. Located near a stunning fjord and breathtaking Snow Roads. The traditionally decorated, family-run house gives guests an authentic Norwegian welcome. The house has nine bedrooms and each room is unique, creating a homely, warm ambience for those staying in the house. You will find photos from the bygone days, toasty throws and comforting armchairs to relax into after a day of exploring the area. Tone, the owner of the house is a keen hiker and has explored every single trail around the house. She takes pride in taking guests walking in the stunning landscape and will design a bespoke itinerary to suite each guestâs needs and skill level. The food is season specific and focuses on showcasing the best of Norway. With fresh fish and meats from the surrounding fjords and farms.
29/9 Aurland is located on a tributary that flows off the Aurlandsfjord. The house is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and scenic forests creating a winter wonderland feeling during the winter and in the summer the areas comes alive with colour. The village of Aurland is just down the road and is easily accessible.
How to get there
The house will pick you up in a Toyota Landcruiser from Bergen airport which takes 2 hr 40 minutes. Alternatively, there is Sogndal Airport which is in Flaam and only about a 10 minute drive away. Between May - September you can catch the express boat from Bergen to Aurland which takes about 5 hours and takes you along the worlds longest fjord.
When to go
The lodge is open throughout the summer and during winter for skiing but closed between the two seasons. Summer offers a host of outdoor excursions from hikes to fishing and boating. Early summer, before the crowds descend is a wonderful time to go.
During the winter months the climate will be cold with snow covering the landscape. It is important to pack warm clothing for any outdoor activities.
Travelling with children
All children are welcome. Some activities may have an age limit depending on the level of risk involved.
