Practical info
Location
Mahu Whenua is on the South Island of New Zealand close to Wanaka and Queenstown. The Lodge is perfectly situated to explore Mt Aspiring National Park and Fiordland National Park.
How to get there
To get from London to New Zealand you would need to take two international flights with a stop over in either Hong Kong or Singapore before arriving in Queenstown, where there are two options. You can take a car transfer for an hour or you can get a helicopter transfer to the Lodges own Helipad.
When to go
The weather tends to be pretty unpredictable. That said, it means that you can go at any time of year and still get glorious days. At the bottom of the world (or top, depending on how you look at it!) the seasons are opposite to the Northern Hemisphere'ÂÂs and most people who visit New Zealand choose to go during their summer season, which is December through February.
Important Information
The risks to health whilst travelling will vary between individuals and many issues need to be taken into account, e.g. activities abroad, length of stay and general health of the traveller. It is recommended that you consult with your General Practitioner or Practice Nurse 6-8 weeks in advance of travel.
Travelling with children
Children are welcome and when the lodge is exclusive to your group there is a bunkroom superb for the children.
