About Malikha Lodge
Malikha Lodge is situated in Northern Kachin State, Myanmar's greenest and most remote state. Formally known as Fort Hertz, Putao was one of the British Empire's most remote outposts. During the Second World War, even the Japanese were unable to conquer this remote and isolated area.
Putao remains completely cut off from the outside world by millions of acres of subtropical rainforest and jagged peaks. Home to a myriad of different cultures and religions, its reputation as a land of old-style adventure and discovery is rivaled only by the warmness of its welcome.
Malikha Lodge is located in Putao in the far north of Myanmar, right beneath the Himalayan peaks.
How to get there
After a 14hr30 flight to Yangon via Bangkok, you fly to Putao. Malikha Lodge is located 15 minutes from the Putao airport by car. There is exclusive private car transfers available.
When to go
The best time to visit Myanmar is during the dry season which runs from November to April. This season brings warm and sunny days that are ideal for sightseeing. It is best to avoid September when the rain arrives making sightseeing difficult.
The risks to health whilst travelling will vary between individuals and many issues need to be taken into account, e.g. activities abroad, length of stay and general health of the traveller. It is recommended that you consult with your General Practitioner or Practice Nurse 6-8 weeks in advance of travel.
Travelling with children
Malikha Lodge welcomes children, although it is worth noting there are no specific facilities for them.
