About LUX Le Morne
SOUL-STIRRING ROMANCE ON THE WILDER SOUTHWEST
Flower-filled gardens, high drama sunsets - that's just the start of a stay in one of our lagoon-facing suites at the end of this leafy UNESCO- protected peninsula. Even our acclaimed spa enjoys a grandstand view of that rugged and inspiring Le Morne Brabant peak.
Take a dip in one of our four pools, stroll or ride horses along the seemingly endless stretch of talcum-soft sands, or take it up a gear with tennis, biking and a raft of complimentary water sports. The only challenge? You might not want to shut your eyes and miss a second of this scenery.
A rugged peak standing proud on the south west tip of Mauritius, the Le Morne Brabant Peninsula climbs 556m above the sea level. Runaway slaves settled here in the 18th and 19th centuries and began t play a significant role in defining the areas vibrant culture.
Further inland, the Black River Gorges National Park boasts a wealth of indigenous flora and fauna, from orchids and Anthuria to Macaques, wild boar and flying foxes.
Sportier types will enjoy gazing on this fantastic landscape from one of two local world class golf courses.
Nature, culture, flavour and 5-irons - you'll find it all at Le Morne.
How to get there
LUX Le Morne is 1hr15 from the airport
When to go
Mauritius has a warm subtropical climate.
There is a warm, dry season from MAy to September iwth temperatures ranging from 20C to 25C. Cooling trade winds blow from the south-east and keep down the humidity levels.
From October to April the weather becomes hotter, more humid and temperatures range from around 25C to 30C. The rains fall at this time, with the peak rains - and some cyclones - occurring in January and February, when we do not recommend travel.
