Latitude 15

Lusaka

Named after its latitude co-ordinates, Latitude 15 is a small boutique hotel in the quiet residential suburb of Kabulanga in Zambia’s capital, Lusaka. Opened in 2014, the hotel is a short drive from the airport, and caters largely to travellers who are staying in Lusaka for a single night before continuing their travels or heading home. Around the edge of Latitude 15 are 18 en-suite double bedrooms, positioned on the ground and first floors. Luxurious and large, each air-conditioned room differs slightly in terms of size and decor, but all are tastefully decorated in creammand neutral colours, with several colourful paintings on the walls. At the heart of Latitude 15, the main lounge area is very modern and stylish, but this has been done very well. Comfy seating, wooden coffee tables and lots of African artwork – both modern and more traditional – lend the hotel much more character than some of the larger international hotels, and allow you to feel that you are in Africa.
