About Mara Nyika
Mara Nyika, the sister camp to Mara Plains in Kenya, is launching in August 2019 and is a wonderful addition to the Great Plains Family.
Mara Nyika is a unique camp offering guests the sense of escaping to a treetop hideaway as each suite is tucked under a canopy of trees with suspended walkways linking them to camps main living areas.
When visiting guests can explore the 50,000 acre Naboisho Conservancy in which the camp is located and further afield with safari drives to the Maasai Mara Reserve. Each guests stay supports over 500 Masai families with a sustainable livelihood through the payment of conservation fees and ensuring the conservation of the wildlife in this vital corridor of the Maasai Mara ecosystem.
Guests can enjoy a number of activities such as hot air balloon flights across the Masai Mara and local Masai Village visits where guests can experience the culture of the Masai People. Mara Nyika is an exciting new addition to the Maasai Mara camping experience.
Camp located in the private 50,000 acre Naboisho Conservancy , just on the northern boundary of the Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp is nestled in lush forest on the meandering bends of the Ntiakatek River.
50,000 acre Naboisho Conservancy lowest vehicle density vehicles in the Maasai Mara region, while also having the highest concentration of big cats anywhere in Africa. There is only one guest bed per 350 acres, leaving the land unadulterated for the wildlife to roam and thrive, as nature intended.
How to get there
Mara Nyika is primarily accessed by scheduled air transfers or private charters. On arrival at the airfield, the transfer to camp is approximately 30 minutes allowing time for game viewing en route.
