About Lolldaiga House
Lolldaiga House is located to the north of Mt Kenya in the Lolldaiga Hills Conservancy, in one of the largest private ranches in Kenya.
Lolldaiga House was built in 2016 as a private home, and has recently opened up to welcome guests who wish to visit Laikipias magnificent Lolldaiga Ranch. The Ranch is unique in the way that it is the only accommodation of its type within the 50 000 acres of exquisite wilderness, giving guests the sense of total exclusivity. Lolldaiga offers the option for guests to be hosted or alternatively take the house privately, with a private guide and bespoke activities arranged around the ranch and surrounds. The house chef can tailor make a menu for you in advance of your trip and all dietary requirements can be discussed to make sure everything is to your specifications.
The Ranch has six double en-suite rooms, to which we can add single beds if required. Two of the rooms are in private cottages outside the house giving guests the option of complete privacy if needed. All rooms have a private veranda from which guests have tremendous views north of the reserve from which they can enjoy a hot cup of tea in the morning .
The Lolldaiga Hills are located in the highlands of central Kenya, eastern Laikipia County, about 10 km off the north-west slope of Mount Kenya and 16 km north of the equator at an altitude of 1,700 â 2,300 m, the Ranch has outstanding views of Mount Kenya and the Aberdares.

When to go
You should note that like other locations in Kenya, Laikipia experiences two dry seasons and two rainy seasons that greatly affect the ease with which you may view wildlife. The long, cool-dry season occurs from July to October, and the short, hot-dry season occurs in January and February.
During these times, water sources are quite limited, so wildlife are easily found gathered near or around the last remaining water sources. The conservancies in Laikipia have many wetlands that attract yet disperse an abundance of animals during the short rains in November and December, as well as the long rains from April to June.
The ranch is also committed to covering school fees for students and the salary of teachers from neighbouring areas. This programme, the Lolldaiga Hills Ranch Education Sponsorship Programme (LHRESP) aims to support students and teachers in nearby communities.
