About Hemingways Nairobi
Situated in the suburb of Karen, it is surrounded by the thriving community of this bustling little village. While staying at Hemingways Nairobi you are near the National Park which stretches into the Great Rift Valley. Nearby, you will also find the Giraffe Centre, the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust for orphan Elephants, and Karen Blixen Museum. There are several boutiques in the area for shopping but you could also venture into the thrum of the city to see how this hub of East Africa operates.
Nairobi is a modern metropolis; multi-ethnic and home to more than 4 million people, Nairobi is a city of contrasts. Culturally vibrant, the city hosts theatre, concerts and fine dining. There are plenty of clubs, casinos, coffee shops and malls to keep the global traveller entertained.

When to go
High on a hilltop near the equator, Nairobi and its surroundings enjoy a temperate climate most of the year. At an altitude of 1700 m or 5,500 ft, humidity is very low and nights are cool.
The summer months are sunny and hot but not unbearably sweltering. The winters are mild but never shiveringly cold. There are two monsoons and rainfall is moderate; the wettest months of the year are April and May, when days are typically cloudy and with downpours. There are four seasons but these are not always distinct, the rains are sometimes early and often late.
The drive to the hotel from the international airport is around 40 minutes, although if you hit this in rush hour it can be much longer. We suggest, if flight times permit, driving through the National Park, the drive is also about 40 minutes although guests get to do some game driving at the same time. The park entry fees do need to be covered though.
