About Acacia & Mara Bush Houses
Acacia House and Mara House offer some of Africa's finest family living. The private houses are fully catered and guided by some of the very best in Africa to make this a unique experience.
Acacia House (Sleeps 6)
The living spaces dominate Acacia House beginning with a large, open-air veranda looking out over the famous Ol Chorro waterhole. This leads into an open-plan dining and seating area complete with log fire for those cooler nights in the bush. Beyond are two spacious double en-suite bedrooms and a third attic room, created specifically for younger guests. Acacia House comes with a full complement of well-trained and experienced staff at guests’ disposal to ensure all you have to do is enjoy the space and setting. To the side of the house, raised above the waterhole, there is a pool and a barbecue area which provide a place to relax, dine and socialise between safari expeditions, particularly around sunset. This pool is shared with nearby Mara House.
Mara House (Sleeps 6)
Located in the same valley as Acacia House this three bedroom bush home is once again designed to suit a couple, small group or family on safari. The three double rooms are all en-suite and spacious living areas mean the group staying here have plenty of indoor as well as outdoor space. Your private team will prepare all meals to the usual high standard and will cater for bush picnics or lunches under the acacia trees by the pool.
Mara House comes with a full complement of well-trained and experienced staff at guests disposal including a chef, wildlife guide and house manager to ensure a seamlessly-run safari experience which delivers the very best the Mara has to offer. It is an opportunity to explore this wilderness from a private bush home in the company of your personal Maasai guide on your own terms.
A fully qualified guide and vehicle will be on hand to assist with a wide range of safari activities which include walking, day or night game drives and visits to local villages and trading centres. Game viewing is done primarily in the conservancies of Mara North, Ol Chorro and Lemek - an area of about 100,000 acres. Trips into the Mara Game Reserve can be undertaken should guests wish to do so (entrance fees extra).
Acacia & Mara bush Houses sit in the Ol Chorro Losoit valley within the Lemek hills, far from the tourist trail and within the 70,000 acre Mara North Conservancy area from where the Mara Bush Houses team have operated their wilderness expeditions for more than twenty years.

Travelling with children
This is perhaps one of the finest family play-grounds we can imagine.
Mara and Acacia both share a swimming pool (and a baby pool) and offer plenty of safe space for children to play. These two houses are just two minutes walk from a small schoolroom.
The younger guests are welcome to spend as little or as much supervised time in the toy-filled schoolroom as they want allowing them some fun while the parents take a break before game driving, swimming and relaxing as a family later in the day.
The guides Jackson, Salaash, Fred and Dickson, are experienced family men. They have raised their own kids on the plains and over the years have shown many children the magic of this very fine wilderness.
