Gora Kadan

Hakone

Set in the former summer villa of the Kan’in-No-Miya Imperial family, this beautiful property blends Japanese hospitality with contemporary elements to create a tranquil base from which to explore the onsen hot springs and natural landscapes of the Hakone National Park. From the manicured gardens to the rock pools and waterfalls of the outdoor onsen, the emphasis is on pure relaxation. An indoor pool, family onsen and spa add more opportunities to unwind when not exploring the sights, including the Hakone-Jinja Shrine and Lake Ashi.

The rooms vary in style, with some offering traditional elements such as futon mats on tatami flooring and others providing western beds. The suites are particularly spacious, with many including saunas and granite baths fed by natural hot springs and a view of the gardens. Dining at Gora Kadan is an occasion to remember, with authentic kaiseki cuisine prepared with seasonal ingredients and served over several courses.
