About Four Seasons Kyoto
The Four Seasons Kyoto is in a brilliant location in the historic Higashiyama district. The hotel has a warm and elegant ambience, decorated throughout in creamy marble and cypress wood, with paper lanterns and seasonal floral displays adorning the rooms. The beautiful pond garden includes stone bridges, cherry blossom, maples and a picturesque tea house. Each room is modern but also echoes traditional Japanese design. Bathrooms are complete with huge soaking tubs and monsoon showers.
It is a perfect retreat for all ages due to the wide range of facilities on offer, including a subterranean swimming pool, bubbling baths and an extensive spa.
When wanting to explore the city, the experienced multilingual concierge is always on hand to help. It is also possible to hire bicycles from the front desk in order to nip around the city on two wheels like the locals.
Four Seasons Kyoto is in the historic Higashiyama district and only 10 minutes away from Kyoto's busy downtown.
How to get there
Kyoto is 2 hours on the bullet train (Shinkansen) from Tokyo. The Four Seasons Kyoto is a 15-minute drive from the station by taxi or private transfer.
When to go
Late spring (March to May) and late autumn (September to November) are famously the best times to visit Japan, when there is little rainfall and temperatures are mild.
The risks to health whilst travelling will vary between individuals and many issues need to be taken into account, e.g. activities abroad, length of stay and general health of the traveller. It is recommended that you consult with your General Practitioner or Practice Nurse 6-8 weeks in advance of travel.
Travelling with children
The Four Seasons Kyoto warmly welcomes children of all ages. Four Seasons can suggest child-friendly outings, or arrange a babysitter, and help you discover the Kyoto your family will love.
