About Kudanil Explorer
The Kudanil Explorer is a new 50-metre expedition vessel that accommodates 16 guests in 8 spacious berths. 21 crew are aboard to look after guests' needs as they voyage through the most remote areas in indonesia. The owner took the opportunity to convert a heavy-duty ocean-going vessel into a luxury expedition yacht, which proves the perfect base from which to explore and discover. The boat can venture to areas of the archipelago that other boats cannot reach.
Kudanil Explorer features 8 spacious air-conditioned ensuite berths spanning 30.5sqm each, situated on the upper deck. Each one with the option of a king-size or twin configuration to accommodate 16 guests onboard, with additional single beds available for children on request. Cabins are fitted with adjustable air-conditioning, wifi access and an entertainment system including movies and TV series. Every cabin also has its own private balcony, fitted with a table and chairs and a daybed for secluded alfresco relaxation.
The vessel follows the monsoon and journeys from East to West to sail in calm seas and avoid rain. We venture beyond Komodo: from the crater lakes of Kelimutu to Detusoko to the picturesque villages and pristine nature of Ngada, Bali, Komodo National Park, Sumba, the Spice Islands, Raja Ampat, Papua, and more.
How to get there
Depending on the area Kudanil Explorer operates in, the disembarkation locations are always different. We do trips in Komodo, Raja Ampat, Sumba, Spice Islands as well as customising trips according to guestsâ preferences.
The boat also travels all year around.
Komodo April - October
Spice Islands October/November
Raja Ampat November - March
When to go
Indonesia has two main seasons, the wet season and the dry season, and there are no extremes of temperature between winter and summer. The wet season falls between October and April and the dry season between May and September.
Kudanil Explorer was converted in 2017 and spans 50m. 8 cabins accommodate up to 16 guests. She cruises at a maximum speed of 14 knots.
Travelling with children
Children are welcome and plans can be made to add single beds into the rooms.
