About Kohima Camp, Nagaland
Kohima Camp, Nagaland is located in a region in Nagaland that is predominantly occupied by the Angami Tribe, one of the major tribes of the 16 . The camp is a exciting blend of Naga Rainforest and Tribal Legacy.
Kohima Camp is unique in the fact that it coincides with the annual Ten day Hornbill cultural festival. An undoubtedly magical experience.
The Nagaland experience also gives you a chance to join the 16 Naga tribes, previous Headhunters, in showcasing their culture and heritage.
Try esoteric foods and rice beer, buy handmade shawls and participate vicariously in the pork and the fiery King chilly eating competitions.
Kohima is located in North East India just south of the state of Assam. The nearest port of entry by air, road and rail to Kohima is Dimapur.
How to get there
Flight to Calcutta followed by a flight to Dimapur. The 3 ½ hour road journey then ascends up to the cool and hilly terrains leading you to our camp location.
When to go
The Camp is only open from 29th November to 12th December when the weather is warm and dry.
Valid Passport with a valid Indian visa, vouchers, travel insurance and valid domestic air tickets required.
The people of Nagaland are very friendly. Most of the younger generation speak in English so a Hello or a Goodbye will do.
Casuals with half / full sleeves shirts and full length pants / long shirts are advised. Please carry your fleece, jackets or shawls at all times.
It is polite to take permission before taking photographs unless at a great distance.
Travelling with children
