This one stole my heart. It's the originality, food, tents and wonderful service that make it amazing.

About Chhatra Sagar
Located in the heart of rural Rajasthan and positioned on the walls of a dam, this luxury-tented hotel is well-known for its tranquility and charm. Recreated by the great grandchildren of the noble who built the dam in the late nineteenth century, Chhatra Sagar has captivated many a weary traveller with its peace and tranquility.
Made up of 9 luxury hand stitched tents all facing east, guests can enjoy a private unobstructed view of the reservoir and the many birds that flock to this manmade lake. There are two additional tents set atop a hill providing complete privacy and a breathtaking 360 degree view.
All reservations are full board and the food is both cooked and served by the charming owners, the Nimaj family (the very same family that built the reservoir in the nineteenth century). The recipes they use are also their family recipes that have been handed down through generations. You will not experience home cooking quite like it anywhere else.
Chhatra Sagar lies around two hours east of Jodhpur and 4 hours west of Jaipur.
How to get there

When to go
Rajasthan has some major climactic fluctuations. During December, January and February, it can be very cold in the mornings and evenings and warm clothes are necessary at these times. During the daytime it is lovely and warm and sunny. March and April are getting fairly hot and it begins to get humid in June and temperatures can rise to an intense and uncomfortable heat. The monsoon breaks in July and lasts until September. October and November are still warm but not cold or wet. The best time to visit is from October to April. It is generally a dry heat with very little humidity, except during the months of September and early October.
As a UK citizen you must have a visa to enter India. Apply for a 30 day e-visa using the following link https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/index.html

Chhatra Sagar welcomes children, although there are no children specific facilities.
