Northern Iceland

Iceland

Wild and wooly Northern Iceland is a part of the country most people do not get the opportunity to see. However, we think making the journey here is well worth the expedition, stopping at some outdoor swimming pools along your way. Little light pollution means this corner of Iceland is where you are most likely to see the Northern Lights. During the day there is plenty to see and do; surfing in the Arctic, snorkelling with puffins, snowmobiling and horse riding to name a little. The North has its share of aquatic grace too: Godafoss and Dettifoss waterfalls are spectacular, and the milky hue of the Myvatn geothermal baths is enough to convince anyone of its magical properties. The bays of Skjalfandi and Eyjafjordur are two of the very best whale spotting areas – speak to your travel designer about the best time of year to visit on your Iceland tour for an opportunity to see these majestic giants. Not yet sold? It is also home to our favourite Icelandic property, Deplar Farm.
