How to get there
Deplar Farm is just 150km away from Akureyri Airport, there is a landing strip and helipad on the property ground for transfers. Alternatively, it is an approximate one hour 30 minute road transfer to Deplar Farm.
Akureyri Airport is accessible by a domestic flight from Reykjavik airport which are twice daily in season and take roughly an hour in the sky.
Alternatively, the drive from Reykjavik is just under 5 hours.
When to go
Weather in Iceland is often completely unpredictable. In summer there is a fair chance of bright and sunny days with temperatures reaching up to 17 degrees celcius. Winter weather in Iceland can be a frosty and dark affair with temperatures fluctuating around freezing point. Northern lights can be seen between September and January, with nights being light from mid May to early August, the sun never fully setting in June.
Its important to pack for any eventuality, preparing for wind and rain and bringing plenty of layers and suncream!
Travelling with children
Deplar Farm welcomes children of all ages. Childrens pricing applies after double occupancy has been met. Children under the age of three are welcomed to Deplar Farm free of charge. Baby cots are available upon request, and meals and activities can be tailored to suit the whole family.
