Baa Atoll is an administrative division of the Maldives and a UNESCO world biosphere. It can be reached by a scenic 30-minute sea plane flight from Male. Apart from the highly sought-after crystal clear waters, white beaches and tropical climate, the island has unusually rich vegetation offering a unique natural experience, painting the perfect picture of paradise.
Serengeti National Park
Tanzania’s most famous safari destinations, vast areas of open savannah and dramatic natural phenomena; teeming with wildlife and dominated by big African skies. This is such a huge tract of land with a wide offering of accommodation types and safari styles. There truly is something for everyone across the northern safari destinations, matching the expectations you have for your safari with the best lodges and guides on the ground is where the team of specialist at True Luxury Travel come in. The Serengeti National Park is most famous for the Great Migration. This annual cycle of two million animals covers vast distances in search of fresh grazing, although unpredictable in its very nature, the cycle does follow a pattern and at any time of the year it is possible to enjoy an unparalleled migration safari. As the herds move on the resident wildlife stays behind, this is where the depth of the Serengeti comes into its own, blessed by wonderful wildlife throughout the year, we often recommend visitors experience a quieter corner, away from the big herds, take the opportunity to slow down on safari and soak in the atmosphere of this very special part of Africa.
One of Africa’s most iconic safari areas. A phenomenon of nature where the Okavango River runs out, not to the sea but into the heart of the Kalahari Desert. Floodwaters arrive all the way from the Angolan Highlands in about June and water levels in the Delta can rise by up to three feet in a matter of days. A truly beautiful landscape with a jaw-dropping variety and volume of wildlife.
Today's Kep has recently become established as a Khmer holiday spot and is slowly being rediscovered by travelers.
The Seychelles is a breath-taking cluster of 115 tropical islands in the heart of the Indian Ocean off the East coast of Africa. The archipelago is alive with colourful sea life, enchanting rainforests and picturesque beaches, ideal for the perfect getaway. Whether you are looking for a family holiday, couples retreat or honeymoon, the Seychelles is a place you need to visit in your lifetime. Throughout most of recorded history the Seychelles was uninhabited and still has a very small population today. The state is committed to sustainable living and preserving nature, making it a sanctuary of raw nature and personal wellness. The islands are divided into two categories: 45 Islands that form the mountainous granitic ‘Inner Islands’ (namely Mahé, La Digue and Praslin) and 71 ‘Outer Islands’ that are an array of small, flat scattered islands of which many remain untouched by man. The granite islands boast the most beautiful bays and classically Seychelles beach scenes, with diverse landscapes of tropical rain forests, mountains, waterfalls, and jungles. This is a peaceful place of leisure; therefore typical activities include guided trail walks, swimming, sun bathing, snorkelling, fishing, diving, sailing/cruising, rock climbing, golf (Praslin), spa and wellness treatments, visiting marine parks, cycling the rainforests, and visiting the variety of restaurants. With that said, the main island (Mahé) has a bustling port and nightlife if that is of interest. Cuisine predominantly includes seafood, coconut curry, spiced rice and tropical fruits like papaya and golden apple. A typical dining experience could include grilled fish/calamari with crushed ginger, chilli, and garlic in a coconut-based sauce. As the Seychelles has such a diverse history, its cuisine incorporates a variety of Chinese, Indian, English and French techniques. This diverse heritage filters into their multi-ethnic culture however a few things from the Seychelles days of slavery has remained such as the traditional ‘moutya’ erotic dance combined with the ‘sega’ lyrics. The local language is Creole, however English and French are also recognised as official languages. The Seychelles is known as the world leader in sustainable tourism, therefore their wildlife remains extremely well preserved. The Aldabra giant tortoises are allowed free to roam the granitic islands, and are loved by locals and tourists. They have a diverse range of birds, including their national bird the black parrot and some of the world’s largest seabird colonies. From the sea, there are over 1000 bright and colourful species of fish that have been recorded. Indigenous to the Seychelles is the jellyfish tree and many orchid varieties. The climate is typical to most tropical destinations. Year round it is quite humid and the temperature does not have great disparity. The hottest period is between December and April, however the heat rarely exceeds 31°C. During this time there are bursts of rainfall, which tend to go as quickly as they come. The cooler months are July and August with an average low of 24°C. Transportation to Seychelles is often easiest via Air Seychelles or Emirates, flying into Mahe or Praslin Airport. There are other airlines that fly directly into Seychelles while some fly via Abu Dhabi and Dubai. If you wish to travel between the islands you can either jump on a domestic flight, fast catamaran ferry or chartered helicopter. Getting around the small islands is easy. The most often used mode of transportation is by hired bicycle and ox wagon. For the bigger islands such as Mahe and Praslin, you may hire a car/motorbike, hop on a bus or take a taxi.
