The Best of Botswana Safari
Chobe National Park, Okavango Delta, Kalahari
Day 1-4
CHOBE NATIONAL PARK, Botswana
A park known for its large herds of elephants and abundance of buffalo, Chobe is the picture-perfect safari destination.
Start your Botswana safari experience in the magical world of Camp Savuti, your home for the next three nights. We don’t believe there is anywhere else in Africa able to deliver such big game interaction in this corner of Chobe. The water of the Savuti Channel, for as long as it continues to flow, draws wildlife in from the dry interior and creates an environment where the heightened drama of predator versus prey is played out in full. Enjoy the spectacle from Savuti Camp with a sundowner in hand as you watch elephant herds journey across the marsh.
Day 4-7
OKAVANGO DELTA, Botswana
The Okavango Delta displays incredible wildlife scenes, both on dry land and along its many waterways, ranging from hippos to lions and huge elephant herds.
From Chobe, you’ll travel to the Okavango Delta for three nights at Kanana Camp. After the wildlife action of Savuti, you may feel it’s time for a change in pace. Kanana will not disappoint in terms of wildlife, but as you glide along the waterways with boat activities and Mokoro trips, your safari will take on a slower pace. Enjoy the cooling waters of the Okavango as you glide between lily pads in the heart of the Delta. The famous heronry is a must-see, and you should try your hand at catching an African pike or even an Okavango bream for the barbeque.
Day 7-10
THE KALAHARI, Botswana
Located in a different corner of Okavango, this private reserve is refuge to a highly unique biodiversity and offers sightings from the Kalahari lion to springbok.
Travel to a different corner of the Okavango for your final three nights. A relatively new camp located on the boundary of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Dinaka Lodge brings new opportunities for visitors to Botswana. We’re always keen to get our guests into the Kalahari and fantastic big game is always complemented by wildlife specifically adapted to the desert environment – aardvark, meerkat, brown hyena, and more. All the above are regular sightings, as are the well-cared-for white rhino who find security in this desert sanctuary. Our favourite experience at Dinaka is walking with the San people – what better way to experience this unique ecosystem than through the eyes of its first inhabitants.
The Pitchers
We had the most amazing time! John Barclay and his team were very special and the mobile safari exclusive and superb. Moremi was very quiet with few other tourists – no more than a dozen other vehicles seen in four days. Macatoo was also excellent with good riding and game. We were so grateful for the help that you offered when our BA flights went wrong. Many thanks again for the superb service and recommendations which made for a great holiday.
