About Shinta Mani Angkor
Located in the heart of Siem Reap, Shinta Mani Angkor offers the perfect base for you to explore this historic town. The town offers great opportunities for wandering around markets, meeting the local people and discovering art at Les Chantiers Ãcoles. The main attraction for many is, of course, Angkor Wat which is the largest collection of temples in the world. Through Shinta Mani Angkor guests can get a tour guide with expert knowledge who can work out with you how to best tackle this enormous site. Just 15 minutes from Siem Reap International airport. The hotel is located in the heart of Siem Reap and roughly 15 minutes from the famous Angkor Wat. Equally, it is just a short walk from the towns markets and an array of wonderful restaurants.
How to get there
Shinta Mani Angkor is conveniently located a 15 minute drive from Siem Reap International Airport. This could either be by taxi or tuk tuk depending on client preference.
When to go
The best time to visit would undoubtedly be during the dry season which runs from November to April. The wettest months are September and October so, the ideal time to go would be November as the countryside will be looking luscious and full of life.
Visaâs are required and cost $30. Either the visa application can be done online or on arrival (if on arrival an additional passport photo is required). Visaâs are valid for 30 days and one should make sure to hold on to your departure form.
All clients are advised to visit your GP at least 4-6 weeks to check if you need any vaccinations or preparatory advice before your trip.
Please be sensitive when photographing local people and their villages. Ask the guide or the villagers first. Be careful when photographing public buildings and persons in uniform - again, ask first. Equally, be careful with your cameraâs etc. when walking through busy areas.
Travelling with children
Children and families are welcome at Shinta Mani Angkor. However, there are no specific facilities for very young children and babies.
