About Tubu Tree Camp
Tubu Tree lies on the remote Hunda Island, the largest area of permanently dry land in this region of the Okavango Delta. As its name implies, it lies in the dappled shade of large trees, it has a raised dining and lounge area, pool and open bar areas almost within the canopy of a marula tree and looking out over a grassy floodplains. The whole camp is connected by raised wooden boardwalks so that one can literally wander amongst the leaves.
Hunda Island is known for its concentrations of game and offers both spectacular wildlife viewing on land, and tranquil adventures on the water. This combination of activities makes Tubu a complete Delta adventure.
The camp can accommodate 16 guests and 2 children. There are eight canvas tented rooms including one honeymoon tent with a king sized bed and one family unit which consists of two interconnected rooms with their own bathroom and entrance, a communal area and sharing deck.
Tubu Tree’s location and easy access to both water and dry-land habitats, ranging from dry Kalahari sandveld to mopane and riverine forest edging on permanent waterways, ensures varied and spectacular game viewing. There are good concentrations of zebra and wildebeest on the floodplains as well as elephant, red lechwe, tsessebe and giraffe. Leopard and spotted hyena viewing is particularly good.
