Described by guests as "Garden Of Eden", this camp is a true escape and a true representation of the best natural beauty that Africa has to offer. The camp offers luxury, bespoke tents, that have all been designed specifically to blend into the forest and take advantage of the natural textures and shapes of the landscape surrounding the camp. There is only one operator on the concession, Great Plains Conservation, which offers guests the ultimate opportunity for private wildlife sightings.
Duba Plains Camp prides itself on its extraordinary wildlife experiences and intimate up-close exposure to the best of the best Botswanan wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, as well as unusual species including Aardwolf and rare Pangolins. The raised tents offer guest stunning views overlooking the vast floodplains below, as well as the steady stream of wildlife parading past the camp. Each tent boasts a stunning private verandah, offering guests ultimate privacy and relaxation in this wild and breathtaking landscape. The camp's centre point is the gathering place of all bush experiences - an deck extended out into the swamp, under the giant ebony trees, a true escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Duba Plains Camp is a completely unobtrusive camp surrounded by vast expanses of seasonally flooded plains and gently shaded by the tall and striking ebony, sycamore, fig, and mangrove trees, each forming a unique and valuable ecosystem on this tree-covered island. Duba Plains Camp is situated within the stunning 77,000 hectare, Duba Plains Reserve in the Okavango Delta, in Northern Botswana. It's ideal location is perfect for a true wildlife connoisseur's getaway with literally thousands of animals in an almost endless pattern across the flood plains. When to go
Best time to visit Duba Plains Camp is between the months of May and September as this is best for game viewing, however the wildlife is spectacular in this region most of the time. Water levels are at their highest at this time of year, allowing for boat safaris and more boat-based activities.
There is no cellphone reception at the camp, no direct phone or fax and no email at the camp.
Malarial protection is recommended if staying at Duba Plains Camp.
Flight times vary depending on type of aircraft and prevailing weather conditions.
Travelling with children
The camp welcomes children over the age of 12.
Children over the age of 6 may be accepted, but a private game vehicle must be booked.
Children under the age of 6 may be accepted if the entire camp is reserved for exclusive use.
However, the camp is not really recommended for children under the age of 16 because game viewing can be intense with sightings of daylight hunts regularly being viewed, which can be too intense for children.
